Anderson, Direr �args� Recreation and Forestry Department, DATE: February 27, 1980 RE: Parks and Open Space Update As you are aware, The City of Mounds View ha+ ontered into a planning contract with the firm of Saunders and Thalden, Inc. to develop a Comprehensive Parks and Open Space Study. Staff has presently been meeting with Mr. Gary Tushie, Planning Associate for Saunders and Thalden, on a weekly basis to review the firm's progress to date and to provide input and direction on future phases. The initial timeline for the project and our progress to date is as follows: 1. Begin inventory of existing recreational facilities - November 15, 1979 - Completed in full. 2. Begin analysis of ten neighborhood parks - November 15, 1979 - Completed in full. 3. Begin update and summary of 1970 Brauer Park Inventory Report - November 19, 1979 - Completed in full. 4. Complete inventory of existing recreational facilities - December 20, 1979 - Completed in full. 5. Begin development of a community survey - December 21, 1979 - Completed in full. 6. Complete analysis of ten neighborhood parks - December- 31 1979 - In full. 7. Begin development of park master plans - January 1, 1980 - This process is underway. 8. Complete preparation of community survey and make available for dis- tribution - January 1, 1980 - Completed in full. 9. Receive and collate results for survey - January 20, 1980 - Surveys were delivered February 16, 1980 and we are in the process of tabulating them. 10. Meeting with the Park Commission to present status of project - January 20, I980 - Completed January 24, 1980. 11. Begin cost estimates for each neighborhood park - February 12, 1980 - Not completed. 12. Complete development of park master plans - February 17, 1980 - Not completed. 13. Complete cost estimates of each neighborhood park - February 19, 1980 - Nct completed. A E
