milLutes <- February U, 1930 <br />City Ball. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Fedor. Motion <br />passed. <br />8 ayes <br />0 nayes <br />Maintenance Director Anderson reviewed the issue of the maintenance of <br />Standards school outdoor recreation facilities which is used by City <br />residents and students. The Joint Powers Agreement maintenance <br />criteria as set by School District #621 was reviewed. Comm- <br />issioner Linke suggested that the City maintain the outdoor <br />facilities during the summer if monetary support is received <br />from the School District. Direct Anderson offered to collect <br />data outlining the approximate time and cost of maintenance <br />of school outdoor facilities in 1981. It was suggested that <br />Dr. Christiansen from the School District be invited to the <br />April Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. Also it was <br />suggested that the Athletic Associations be informed of the <br />difficulties with field maintenance so LhIt they may lend some <br />understanding to the problem. <br />Commissioner Linke made a motion that the City can only maintain <br />outdoor facilities at the same level as 1979 and that even though <br />the Commission believes that the City can do a better job of main- <br />taining school ballfields, the financial capacities are limited. <br />Commissioner Scott seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br />8 ayes <br />0 nayes <br />Commissioner Burmeister made a motion that the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission feels the City is more cost effective in the maintenance <br />of outdoor facilities of the School District and therefore believes <br />that the School District #621 should contribute total final costs <br />for maintenance rendered by the City at school outdoor facilities. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Weflen. Motion passed. <br />7 ayes <br />0 nayes <br />Commissioner Silvis made a motion that a meeting be held between <br />the Parks & Recreation Commission and School District 0621. <br />Commissioner Scott seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br />7 ayes <br />0 nayes <br />It was also suggested that Public Works Superintendent Larry <br />Decheine be present at the uipetIng. <br />After -School Program Supervisor Kvalheim reviewed the new After -School Program. <br />Program <br />Winter Skating Student Intern Jeff Stottlemyer reviewed the 1980 Winter Skating <br />Program Program. <br />a <br />Staff Re ort Director Anderson reported that a new department secretary was ^1 <br />hired. She is Sandy Wheaton. Also Director Anderson referred the <br />Commission to a letter sent by Short -Elliot -Hendrickson, Inc. <br />Consulting Engineers itemising development costa for the proposed-..' <br />Kraus - Anderson/City Park Development. <br />Finally, Director Anderson reporthed that there has not been any <br />provisions in the budget for satellites at the parks. however, <br />there has been ntmmerou4 complaints by residents of the community _ <br />
