1 <br /> MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> S <br /> Regular Session <br /> March 27, 1980 <br /> Mounds View City Hall <br /> Council Chambers <br /> 6:30 p.m. <br /> Call to Order The Mounds View Parks and Recreation Commission was called <br /> to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Wayne Burmeister. <br /> Roll Call Commissioners present - Chairman Burmeister, Commissioners <br /> Linke, Bowman, Kuluvar, Weflen, Scott, Dennehy and Silvis. _ <br /> Councilmember present - Councilmember Ziebarth <br /> Staff present - Director Anderson and Program Supervisor <br /> Kvalheim. <br /> Visitors present - Dr. Christiansen, Director of Community <br /> Education District #621; John Ostlund, Coordinator of Com- <br /> munity Education District #621; Mr. Leonard, Principal of <br /> Edgewood Jr. High School; Mr. Snowden, Assistant Principal and <br /> Mr. Long, Mounds View resident. <br /> Minutes Commissioner Weflen made a motion to approve the minutes and <br /> Commissioner Silvis seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br /> 9 ayes <br /> nayes <br /> So <br /> Visitor s Director Anderson reviewed the Joint Powers Agreement with the <br /> Presentation Mounds View School District #621 and the City of Mounds View as <br /> the issue stands to date. <br /> Dr. Christiansen also addressed the Joint Powers Agreement and <br /> highlighted the issue of cooperation between City and School <br /> District. John Ostlund also expressed great satisfaction with <br /> the Joint Powers Agreement. <br /> Commissioner Silvis made a motion to accept the conditions of the <br /> maintenance issue of the Joint Powers Agreement and moved that <br /> the Maintenance .Resolution be submitted to the City Council for <br /> acceptance. Commissioner Scott seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br /> 9 ayes <br /> 0 nayes <br /> Silver View Director Anderson reported that the preliminary approval of the <br /> Park Update concept plans of Silver View has been given by the Planning <br /> Commission and City Council. <br /> Commissioner Linke made a motion that, because we, as a Park <br /> ' Commission, have a deep desire to provide the citizens of <br /> 1 Mounds View with both varied and the best recreational facilities <br /> possible, we are now formally adopting the position that "Oak Lake" <br /> I be made a recreational lake in view of the non-recreational pond <br /> IIIor swamp as suggested by the developer. Commissioner Scott <br /> seconded the motion.
