The entire Conuui;sion has now been sworn in <br />Edgewood Jr. High Staff distribued and discussed a variety of information <br />Developn ent Agree- relating to Che develepment of a joint powers agreement <br />ment of Edgewoud Jr. Hiyh School. <br />Information that ias disseminated: <br />a. Park/School inaster plan <br />b. Original joint powers agreeir ent <br />c. Proposed joint powers a9reement <br />d. June 12, 1978 Council Meetinq minutes <br />e. June 26, 1978 New Brighton Bulletin news article <br />f. Original memo from staff to Barry [iauer outlining <br />initial proposal <br />g. Compilation of the original proposal from each of the <br />affected municipalities; Shoreview, New Brighton, <br />Arden Hills, and Mounds View <br />Following staffs review of the enclosed rnaterials, the <br />Conmission had an exhaustive question and answer session <br />on possible ramifications. <br />Following the discussion the following motion was made by <br />Conmissioner Linke, seconded by Commissioner Weflen: <br />That the Mounds View Parks and Recreation Cornmission recomme( <br />that the Mounds View City Council enter into a joint powers <br />agreeirent with School District N621 for the develnpment and <br />maintenance of the outdoor facilities at Edgewood Jr. High <br />with the followiny stipulations: <br />a. That the City forward the $25,000 to School District <br />N621 that was earmarked for construction of four <br />lit tennis courts at Edgewood Jr. High in the 1979 <br />federal revenue sharing account. <br />b. That the tennis courts be constructed in 1980. <br />c. That School istrict M621 would assume any and all <br />additional costs for the tennis courts construction <br />beyond the City's share ef $25,000. <br />d. That School District d621 design and construct the <br />multipurpose building as proposed in 1981 at the <br />School District expense. <br />e. That School District fl621 wculd design and construct <br />the four lane running track as proposed in 1981. <br />The motion passed. <br />8 ayes <br />0 nayes
