January 22, 1981 <br />RE: Silver View Park/Consultant Selection <br />The Mounds View Parks and Recreation Commission has been actively involved in <br />the interview and selection process of hiring a consultant for the development <br />of a Master Plan for Silver View Park during the past two months. <br />The process .began in December, 1979 when they directed staff to prepare bid <br />specifications and to conduct preliminary interviews of twelve consulting firms. <br />This process was begun immediately and staff presented the Commission with seven <br />firms whom were qualified to complete the project. <br />The request for proposal was then mailed out to seven firms in December with a <br />requested deadline of January 7, 1981. All seven firms responded with proposals <br />which were delivered to the Commissioners for their review on January 8, 1981. <br />The seven firms who submitted bid proposals and their total bid price is <br />as follows: <br />BID PRICE FOR <br />BID PRICE FOR <br />FIRM NAME <br />PHASES A & B <br />PHASE C <br />1. <br />Saunders/Thalden & Assoc. <br />$5,900. - $7,100. <br />$2,960. <br />2. <br />Design Consortium Inc. <br />$7,246.00 <br />$35.00/hour <br />3. <br />Brauer and Associates <br />$3,800. plus 6% of <br />2;% of project <br />project design which <br />bid and awarded <br />would be $6,306.00 <br />or $2,102.00 <br />4. <br />Earth Plus <br />$12,710.00 <br />$35.00/hour <br />S. <br />Sanders and Associates <br />$7,400.00 <br />$25.00/hour <br />6. <br />Derek Young & Associates <br />Master Plan - $4,500. <br />$2,890.00 <br />Specifications 5,255. <br />Total $9,755. <br />7. <br />Rieke, Carroll. Muller <br />$15,500.00 <br />$25.- $75./hr. <br />Associates, Inc. <br />The Commission held a special meeting on January 8, 1981 and directed staff to <br />contact three firms for formal interviews on January 15, 1981, The three firms <br />selected for formal interviews were: <br />1.
