APPROACH
The approach which we suggest satisfies the scope of
work outlined in the City's Request For Proposal and
provides a methodology for participation by the City..,
consultant and community as integral members of the
Design Team. By working together we will develop
1) a comprehensive conceptual schemes, 2) refined
design plan. 3) bidding documents and 4) implementation.
of the project.
we have purposely expanded the three work items out-
lined in the RFP to include a fourth and essential task..
We feel that the transition from "Design and Develop-
ment of an overall Park Concept Plan" to the "Prepara-
tion of Construction Documents for Phase One construct ion^.:..;:.::^;,
might be too abrupt. Therefore we are proposing that
following the selection of a preferred overall concept
we will prepare a refined design concept incorporating
adequate detail of Phase One development. This- will
' '!~
allow us to ,proceed with the preparation of..:construction
documents. n a more to manner. ...•
The four wotk tasks identified above will be coordinated
through the city's representative with the con suitant
such that design -services can be completed to allow for
a construction start.
..Jaa►..;t`.
Park & Recreation Commission review of proposal and.
recommendations of interview schedule.
iab..15
Formal interview and consultant selection
Jan. 26
Council Radification/Contractual Approval '
Feb. 1
Task 1 - Program development
Analysis of Existing Conditions
.
Preparation of Preliminary overall Concept designs,
