,I <br />MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUN <br />FROM: CLERK-ADMINISfRATUR - <br />DATE: JUNE 4, 1986 <br />SUBJECT: ON-SALF. AND OFF -SALE, LIQUOR LICENSE. RENEWALS <br />During your June 9th Council Meeting you will he holding <br />public hearings on the renewal of both on and off -sale <br />liquor licenses issued by the City of Mounds View. Attached <br />for your information is a copy of the public hearing <br />sehednle for that date along with a memorandum from Police <br />Chief Ramacher reporting any citizen's complaints, citations, <br />or observations of his department regarding impacts of these <br />operations upon residential areas during the past year. <br />The following memorandum reviews three basic areas for each <br />of the City's liquor licensees. Those areas are 1) written <br />or recorded telephone complaints received during the past <br />year regarding the licensees activities; 2) fire or building <br />code violations; and 3) general observations regarding the <br />licensees business activities. Should you have any <br />adaitiunal questions reyardinq these licensees prior to or <br />during the public hearing process, Staff will make every <br />effort iu respuud to your inquiry as soon as possible. <br />A. Mermaid - 7:05 p.m. <br />1. No written or recorded telephone complaints received <br />during the past year. <br />2. No known violations. <br />3. The Mermaid has posed no problems for the City <br />during the past year. <br />B. Muldoon's_- 7:06 p.m. <br />1. written complaints (copies attached) <br />August 8, 1985 - Timothy W. White <br />5249 Greenfield Avenue <br />August 13, 1985 - Paul R. and Janice A. Johnson <br />5259 Greenfield Avenue <br />(Copies of reply also attached) <br />The City has received a number of phone complaints <br />and I have received approximately 6 at my home <br />during evening hours. In each case we have <br />requested the complainant file a written complaint, <br />but none have been received. In reviewing this file <br />with Staff the phoned complaints have all related to <br />loud music or noise in the parking lot. <br />
