0 A <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2029 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />SLATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION AND APPRECIATION TO THE <br />BLAINE, SPRING LAKE PARK, MOUNDS VIEW FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, on the morning of July 8, 1986 in the City <br />of Mounds View, a Williams Pipeline Company pipeline <br />catastrophically ruptured spewing unleaded gasoline into the <br />streets of the City which then exploded engulfing a three <br />block area in flames; and <br />WHEREAS, to response to an emergency call, the Blaine <br />Sprinq Lake Park, Mounds View Fire Department responded with <br />all available manpower and equipment; and <br />WHEFEAS, during the ensuing hours the Department's <br />heroic efforts resulted in limited property loss and <br />persoral injury by controlling the flames, evacuating <br />residents, and overseeing the scene of the incident to <br />ensure the fire did not restart while the DiDe was beino <br />capped off; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View wishes tn recognize <br />the outstanding service provided by the Fire Department led <br />by Fire Chief Ron Fagerstrom and the sacrifice of each of <br />its individual members. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council <br />of the City of Mounds View on behalf of the residents of the <br />City of Mounds View commends the members of the Blaine, <br />Spring Lake Park, Mounds View Fire Department for their out- <br />standing eftorts and offers our heartfelt appreciation. <br />Adopted this 18th day of July, 1986. <br />ATTEST: <br />Mayor Links <br />Councilmember Blanchard Councilmember Haake <br />Councilmember Hankner Councilmember Quick <br />Clerk -Administrator Pauley <br />
