GENERAL <br />A. in addition to obtaining permits, etc., the Contractor will obtain the approval of <br />flee Local Fire Marshal and/or other regulating authorities, where required. <br />B. The scope of the contract covers a turnkey job including, but not limited to, <br />excavation, uoening tank, safe removal and disposal of bottom sediment and <br />water, tank surface preparation, coating application, testing, closing tank and <br />finishing of grade to its original surface. <br />C. Armor Shield's instructions are to be followed in the handling, mixing and <br />application of the resin compounds. <br />D. There will be a Contractor's employee on hand at all "roes, who understands lead <br />hazard and the tire and explosion potential and he will be responsible for <br />maintaining a safe environment in the work area. <br />E. The Contractor shall be familiar and comply, with the relevant procedures <br />established by all Federal, State and Municipal mandates. <br />F. Owner or its agent will remove the free product from the tank, leaving the <br />bottom sediment and water for removal, by the Contractor. Bottom sediment and <br />water shall be disposed of in a safe manner that is acceptable to the Local, State <br />an Federal regulatory agencies. <br />G. Before any work is done, the work area is to be barricaded and the required <br />Danger slid Caution signs posted. The arca is to be kept free of sources of ignition <br />during the work period. <br />H. The Contractor will have on hand, n properly maintained and tested portable fire <br />extinguisher, with a minimum Underwriter Laboratory extinguisher rating of 12 <br />B. <br />II. PURGING THE TANK OF FLAMMABLE. VAPORS <br />A. The tank is to be isolated from any flammable vapor source before work begins. <br />Tanks that are manifolded togther create a prevalent danger in that explosive <br />vapors can infiltrate a tank after it has b-en purged. Submersible pumps mast be <br />removed and op, nings plugged. Lines that may be common to other stoiage <br />tanks, such as suction, syphon and vent lines, are to blanked. The Contractor <br />must be aware that it is common practice to manifold vent lines at locations <br />where the tanks have been adapted for vapor recovery. <br />
