TO: Planning Commission <br />FROM: Public Works/Community Development Director Thatcher <br />r <br />V. <br />DATE: July 24, 1986 <br />RE: Variance for Mylo and Barbara Gjerde <br />Driveway at 2272 Lois Drive <br />A driveway was replaced at 2272 Lois Drive without obtaining <br />a building permit for this work. The contractor doing this <br />work was not licensed to work in the City of Mounds view. <br />When the new driveway was inspected, it did not meet the <br />existing code which requires a 5-foot setback from the <br />property line. <br />City code states that any restoration work done in the City <br />must comply with the existing codes. (Chapter 40.03, <br />subdivision (A) and (G)). <br />The property owner has applied for a variance to the 5-foot <br />property setback requirement. <br />_ RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the variance not be <br />accepted and that the City's building code be enforce.- <br />;, <br />
