Mounds View City Council September 8, 1986 <br />Regular Meeting Page Three <br />----------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />Councilmember Hankner stated she had not had much time to <br />review the Council copy of the budget but she did have <br />several questions, and she asked for additional information <br />on estimates for the contingency fund, the expenses <br />associated with the Festival in the Park and the•Staff/ <br />Council picnic, Clean -Up Day, grants and subsidies, with <br />the North Suburban Youth Service Bureau in particular, <br />funding for the Comp Plan, what salary proposals might <br />be, legal fees, moving training, conferences and publica- <br />tions over to the administrative section, and use of vehicles <br />by which departments. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reviewed the areas of concern <br />briefly, and stated he wc,ld put these items on the <br />agenda for next week, for a budget discussion. He <br />clarified that the comparable worth study has not been <br />finalized, which is what will dictate what the salaries <br />will be. <br />edyur Linke asked wiry cite nidikvL analysis for Lhe compara- <br />ble worth study was not done while the study was being <br />worked on. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley replied it is being worked on <br />presently, and the information is very difficult to <br />obtain from the private sector. <br />Bill Frits, 8072 Long Lake Road, stated they could get <br />statistics fro-. the Bureau of Labor Statistics. <br />Mayor Linke closed the public hearing and reopened the <br />regular meeting at 7:59 PM. <br />Finance Director Brager reported they had had a difficult <br />time recruiting water meter readers, and have just <br />finalized the list and asked for Council approval, so <br />they could get started next week. <br />Motion/Second: Hankner/Hawke to approve Resolution <br />No. 2073, appointing 1986 water meter readers, and <br />waive the reading. <br />5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Motion/Second: Linke/Hankner to appoint a committee. of 9.
