MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Mary Saarion, Acting Director <br />Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br />DATE: November 20, 1986 <br />RE: Employment of cable telecasting people <br />The City of Mounds View currently has about $1,700 which can be used <br />only for projects relating to community cable telecasting. Three <br />people have been interviewed for the job and have agreed to handle the <br />council meeting cable telecaetings at the fee of $8.00/hour. The <br />three people are: Charles Skillings <br />Mike Yungers <br />Jerry Skelly, Jr. <br />In March of 1987, the City expects to be granted approximately 020,000 <br />for the sole purpose of cable TV programming at the municipal level. <br />This money is granted from the Cable TV franchise to encourage <br />municipal cable TV programming. <br />RECOM:1ENDATION: To approve the hiring of three cable television <br />production employees for the purpose of telecasting live City Council <br />meetings and other projects that may be appropriate for community <br />viewing, with the funds coming from the monies granted to the City <br />from the cable franchise. <br />
