MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: DON BRAGER, FINANCE DIRECTOR <br />If DATE: AUGUST 17, 1988 <br />SUBJECT: CERTIFICATION OF DELINQUENT UTILITY BILLS <br />Attached is a list of delinquent utility bills. Pursuant to <br />the City's collection policy, numerous notices have been <br />sent to those accounts requesting payment, but to no avail. <br />The City's collection policy provides for certification to <br />Ramsey County to add these delinquent amounts to property <br />taxes for collection in 1989. A public hearing on this <br />matter is required. It is proposed that the hearings be set <br />for 7:05 p.m., September 26, 1988 and that a letter be sent <br />to all accounts advising them of Council's intent to levy <br />those amounts on their property ta:ces. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Council authorize tending notices to <br />persons having delinquent utility accounts and set a public <br />hearing for 7:05 p.m., September 26, 1988 to consider <br />certifying those delinquent accounts to Ramsey County for <br />collection with 1989 property taxes. <br />DB/mjs <br />Attachment: List of Delinquent Accounts to be Certified <br />�. for Collection with Property Taxes in 1989 <br />Ll <br />
