J/4/68 <br />APPENDIX A <br />GLOSSARY OF TERMS USED IN THE ACCESS STUDY <br />Following is an outline of important terms relating directly to <br />local programming including definitions and relationships to the <br />NSCC system. <br />Loral Programming -- video program or announcement/message produced <br />o: obtained by the cable system operator or by an individual, <br />group, institution, or other entity for cable:ast or display on the <br />system <br />A. Operator Programming -- video program or announcement/massage <br />produced or responsible for aprogram oriped by 8sYstam Operator --nd for h he/she is <br />announcement/message contents <br />1. Local Origination Programming -- video programs produced or <br />obtained b; the system operator <br />-- generally supported by advertising <br />includes programs produced by the cable system staff and <br />programs produced by other cable companies, groups, or entities and <br />obtained by the cable operator for cablecast <br />r.nral origination programming is cablecast on Ch. 52. <br />2. Community Announcements -- announcements or messages <br />cor- '�ning noncommercial groups, entities or institutions that <br />are displayed via character generator <br />Community Announcements are displayed on Ch. 62. <br />B. Access Programming -- video programs or announcements/messages <br />produced or obtained by local individuals, groups, institutions, or <br />(60 other entities and for which the producer is responsible for the <br />program or announcement/message contents <br />
