0 MEMO TO: Clerk -Administrator and City Cuuncil
FROM: City Planner Herman
DATE: September 1, 1988
SUBJECT: DEVELOPERS DEPOSITS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE COST
It became apparent during the City's last audit that there are
problems with the Cit;-'c Planning Administrative Accounts. There
are balances listed for many accounts where the project was
completed years ago,
BNcause of my unfamiliarity :¢ith most of these projects, I am rot
qualified to assess Staff time against these accounts. Howe-er,
I would like to stress that most of the accounts listed in
Attachment A 'have little or no City billing against them. It is
difficult to believe that the City dial not incur costs of at
least the amount deposited, especially since many of these
projects are large.
I have made it a priority to organize the administrative
accounts, "nd since my hiring have worked on zeroing out accounts
,® after the project is completed. Approval of this resolution will
® allow me to clear out many of the older accounts and get the
books straightened out.
KH/BAC
U
