Mounds View City Council d F' September 12, 1988 <br />Regular Meeting V <br />Page Eleven <br />-------------------------- <br />Councilmember Hankner reported the problem with brown <br />water at Raymond Drive, in Everest opening the mains, <br />will hopefully be solved when the lines are flushed later <br />this month. <br />Councilmember Wuori asked if the problem will continue <br />as more development occurs. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley replied it would not. He <br />explained this was the result of the installation of <br />the loop connection from the water main on Quincy, <br />which involved shutting down the system and then start- <br />ing it up, which resulted in a surge. He added the <br />system would not need to be shut down again. <br />Councilmember Wuori reported the Planning Commission <br />has requested Clerk/Administrator Pauley attend their <br />October 5 meeting, to swear in the two new members of <br />the Planninq commission. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley stated the swearing in was <br />a formality, not a legality, and he stated that while <br />he would do it if directed by the Council, that would <br />be taking time from his family on a night he devotes <br />to them• and he world prefer not to. <br />Mayor Linke stated it is normally done just be signing <br />the oath of office, and it can continue that way. <br />Councilmember Quick had no report. <br />Councilmember Blanchard had no report. <br />Mayor Linke requested a letter be sent to the school <br />District, thanking them on behalf of the City for their <br />cooperation in the installation of the stoplight at <br />Count,., Road I and Quincy. <br />Mayor Linke reported it is being considered to install <br />a meter on the ramp from County Road I to 35W south, <br />and he does not feel it is necessary, and he has directe2 <br />Public Works Director Minetor to get ahold of the grope: <br />officials to tell them so. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reported it is part of the <br />overall plan of MnDOT to address the problems further <br />youth on 35W.
