MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />a FROM: CLERK-ADMINISTRATOR <br />I <br />DATE: NOVEMBER 30, 1988 <br />SUBJECT AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLAN <br />As you may recall, I previously communicated to you the fact <br />that the 1988 Legislature and the Minnesota Commissioner cf <br />Human Rights took action to require that cities in the State <br />of Minnesota implement affirmative action plans in <br />conformance with the Minnesota Human Rights Act. <br />As a result of this finding and legislative declaration, <br />staff developed an affirmative action plan in conformance <br />with the guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human <br />Rights and presented it to representatives of the Department <br />in draft form for their review and comment. Comments <br />received by the Minnesota Department of. Human Rights were <br />included in the draft currently before you for your <br />consideration ena hopeful adoption.
