MEMO TO: MAYOR 6,.D CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: MARY SAARION, DIRECTOR <br />PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY <br />DATE: SEPTEMBER 28, 1988 <br />SUBJECT: FUNDING SEARCH FOR SILVER. VIEW PARK POND NfuYAGEMENT PROPOSAL <br />As directed by Council, staff has pursued funding sources for a pond <br />management study for Silver View Park. A funding source has not be found. <br />Requests have been made with: <br />D;:R - Waterways division <br />DNR - Wildlife and Foal Division <br />LAWCON <br />Fresh Water Biological Institute <br />U of M Natural Resources Department <br />None of the above agencies were aware of grants or available funding <br />resources. <br />�.._- If the Council is interested in pursuing a management proposal for a pond <br />management plan beginning this fall, staff recommends the funding $5,500 come <br />I <br />rom the contingency fund. If the council prefers to wait, the 1990 budget <br />could reflect funds for this plan. The 1989 budget does not reflect the <br />monies needed to pursue the cost of this proposal. <br />Staff will be present at the agenda meeting to hear your thoughts pertaining <br />tc this particular prcject. <br />MS/SL <br />
