MEMO TO: Clerk -Administrator and City Council
FROM: City Planner Herr.an
DATE: September 26, 1988
SUBJECT: CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT REQUEST FOR STEVE LEGUIL,
8024 WOODLAWN DRIVE, PLANNING CASE NO. 234-88
In February of this year, Mr. Leguil had applied for a variance
to build a garage of over 1,000 square feet. At that time, the
limit on garage size was 864 square feet. After much discussion
the Planning Commission decided to amend the Zoning Ordinance to
allow for garages larger than 864 square feet with a conditional
use permit..
The ordinance enabling larger garages has since been approved by
the Council, published, and is now in effect. Mr. Leguil has
revised his request since initial application for a garage of 996
square feet (24' x 41.5'). This will allow him to build an
accessory storage structure in the future should he choose to do
SO.
Mr. Leguil will be removing his existing garage and building the
proposed one. The garage conforms to code requirements for
setbacks. The Planning Commission recommended approval of the
conditional use permit in Resolution No. 258-88.
KH/BAC
