0 <br />4 <br />MEMO TO: MAYOR AND COW:ILMEMBERS 3 <br />FROM: MARY SAARION, DIRECTOR <br />04 PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY <br />DATE: NOVEMBER 1, 1988 <br />SUBJECT: CELEBRATE MN PROJECT SUGGESTIONS <br />As directed by the City Council, grol:ps, including the Pla-ning <br />Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, Environmental Task <br />Force, Lion's Club and Boy Scout groups were notified regarding <br />Celebrate MN and were .asked to submit project suggestions. The <br />following is a list of those "brainstormed" suggestions: <br />1. Landscaping Hillview Park Building (Eagle Scout). <br />2. City Entry - landscaping the triangle area of County Road I, <br />Quincy Street and Pinewood Drive. <br />3. Construct a picnic shelter at Silver View Park. (Lion's) <br />9. Landscaping, boulevard trees along Highway 10, <br />5. Initiate a sununer flower program. <br />6. City Entry - Landscaping an area on Everest property just west' <br />Of McDonald's. <br />7. Purchase and install three handicapped drinking fountains; one <br />each for City Hall, Greenfield and Silver View Parks. <br />8. Plant a big flower or rose garden to be maintained by some <br />viable community group. <br />9. Improvements to the water quality of Silver View Park Pond. <br />10. Demolish the Phillips 66 gas station in preparation of the <br />library. <br />11. Do a historical background on the City of Mounds View. <br />
