RESOLUTION NO. 10086 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE DUAL PURPOSE POLICE K9 AND TO <br /> ATTEND THE TAC 21 PATROL DOG CERTIFICATION TRAINING TO REPLACE K9 <br /> ACE WHO IS BEING MEDICALLY RETIRED <br /> WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department is committed to maintaining <br /> two canine teams, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department is in need to replace K9 Ace <br /> due to being medically retired, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the ownership and liability of K9 Ace will be transferred from the City <br /> of Mounds View to his current handler Officer Alex Aase, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the purchasing cost for a replacement canine is approximately <br /> $12,500 and we will be using MN Canine Consulting LLC to select and purchase the <br /> canine, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the purchasing cost of the TAC 21 police K9 training is <br /> approximately $6,000 through MN Canine Consulting LLC, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the total purchasing cost for the one dual purpose police canine and <br /> TAC 21 patrol dog certification is approximately $18,500. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br /> Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota to authorize the purchase of one dual <br /> purpose police K9 and to attend the TAC 21 patrol dog certification training to replace <br /> K9 Ace who is being medically retired at an approximate cost of $18,500 from Account <br /> 480-4200-3630 (Public Safety Aid Funds). <br /> Adopted this 14'" day of April 2025. <br /> Zach Lindstrom, Mayor <br /> Attest: <br /> Brian Beeman, Assistant City Administrator <br /> (SEAL) <br />
