C
L,
to
JtP;T.VV 9
MEMORANDUM
Memo To: Mayor and City Council Members
From . Environmental Quality Task Force
(Prepared by Ric Minetor)
Date January 11, 1989
Subject: Edgewood District Drainage Plan
Short -Elliott -Hendrickson presented the Edgewood District
Drainage Plan to the Environmental Quality Task Force on
December 20, 1988. The Task Force discussed the report at that
meeting and again at their January 10, 1989 meeting. The
consensus of those present at the meetings was 'co recommend
continuation of the planning process.
The Task Force believes the concepts presented in the report are
appropriate for this district. There are some concerns regarding
tha details of the possible construction of the "treatment cells"
as well as the vagueness of this concept plan. The Task Force
recognizes that this vagueness is due to the current report being
at a concept level and are confident that these concerns will be
resolved as the planning and implementation of this project
continues.
The reconstructirn of Long Lake Road will afford an opportunity
to construct portions of improvements recommended in the Edgewood
District report. There may be significant benefits in joint
construction of these improvements with the roadway
reconst:rnction. Therefore, the Task Force recommends pursuing
those improvements expeditiously. The Task Force would like to
continue rev+eu (and provide input as appropriate) of the
proposed improvements, especially the "treatment cells" facility
as the plans progress.
