TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />AM: CLERK -ADMINISTRATOR PAULE <br />DATE: JANUARY 31, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: GOAL SETTING WORKSHOP <br />Attached please find a copy of a letter from me to Sherry Schiller, the <br />consultant who has been selected for the goal setting workshop. In my <br />letter I lay out the following points. <br />1. The Goal Setting Workshop has been scheduled for the weekend <br />of March 3, 4, and 5, 1989. <br />2. The cost for Dr. Schiller's services will be $6,500.00. <br />3. After the Council and Departm,cnt Hcads meet fcr all or part <br />of the day on Friday, March 3rd, members of the City's <br />Commissions and City Staff will be invited to meet with us <br />and give inpt-t as to what issues they feel are important. <br />This would be an informal session with refreshments and hors <br />d'oeuvres. <br />In order to finalize some of the crrangements for this workshop, Council <br />will need to make decisions an the following items. <br />C1. Approve the hiring of Dr. Schiller with the cost to be <br />charged to the following accounts. <br />100-4100-363 . . . . . . . . $1,500 <br />Transfer from Fund Balance . $1,500 <br />Contingency . . . . . . . . $3,500 <br />2. Schedule a public informational meeting in mid -February <br />to receive public input on the issue of goals. This <br />information would be summarized in written form for our <br />use during the workshop and provided to the consultant in <br />advance of the workshop. <br />3. Select a location for 'the workshop and authorize me to <br />work out the details including room arrangement, mealn, and <br />refreshments. I would appreciate any general or specific <br />direction in these matters to assure that the arrangements <br />are satisfactory. <br />Should you wish to secure any other arrangements, your direction on <br />those itmes would be appreciated. <br />
