3t 11 La <br />MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: CLERK -ADMINISTRATOR <br />DATE: FEBRUARY 22, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW AND <br />THE CITY OF BLAINE FOR CONNECTION TO THE CITY <br />OF BLAINE'S WATER SERVICE <br />Attached please find a copy of an agreement between the <br />cities of Mounds View and Blaine for the purpose of allowing <br />the SYSCO property to connect to the Blaine Municipal Water <br />System for fire protection services. This agreement was <br />developed by the City of Blaine in response to a proposal <br />submitted by the City of Mounds View which you received <br />copies of late last year. The agreement has expanded <br />significantly from the initial proposal from the City of <br />Mounds View. The proposed Blaine agreement has been <br />reviewed by Public Works Director Ric Minetor and City <br />Attorney Mark Karney and the minor changes that were <br />requested by them have been agreed to by the City of <br />Blaine. The agreement was ultimately approved by the Blaine <br />City Council at their February 16th meeting and is before <br />you for -your consideration and approval at this time. <br />ti RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends Council approval of the <br />*� agreement between the City of Mounds View and the Citv of <br />Blaine for the purpose of permitting certain property owners <br />in the City of Mounds View to connect to the Municipal Water <br />System of the City of Blaine for fire protection services. <br />DFP/MJS <br />Attachment: <br />r! <br />
