MEMO TO: City Council <br />FROM: City Planner Herman <br />DATE: February 22, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: TAX FORFEITED LANDS <br />Attached is'a staff report on the proposed acquisition of the tax <br />forfeited parcels in Mounds View. This report combines input from <br />Clerk -Administrator Pauley; Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br />Director Saarion; Public Works Director/City Engineer Minetor; <br />Finance Director Brager; and myself. Each participant was asked <br />to comment upon their particular area of expertise and upon the <br />draft document as a whole. <br />In general, it was my feeling that the Staff should present they <br />feasibility of the proposed use for the paiuel. If <br />this use d <br />not seem feasible other options were explored. It did not seem to <br />be appropriate to encourage Purchase except in the case of Parcel <br />C for the stated reasons. Acquisition and use of these parcels is <br />a policy decision by the Council which must be weighed against the <br />loss of funds used for acquisition. <br />KJH/BAC <br />(W) <br />
