Memo To :Mayor and City Council Members <br />From :Ric Minetor, Director of Public Works <br />/City Engine <br />Date :March 16, 1989 � <br />Subject:Speed Limit Changes on Long Lake Road and County Road J <br />Ramsey County requested traffic surveys from the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation for determination of safe and <br />reasonable speed limits on Long Lake Road between County Road H-2 <br />and Eastwood Road and also on County Road J between the West <br />County line and Interstate 35W. The Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation conducted these surveys and returned speed <br />authoi.izations generally consistent with the existing signing. <br />The changes on Long Lake Road consisted of rezoning the segment <br />between County Road H-2 and T. H. 30 from 40 mph to 30 mph and <br />also rezoning the short sc-ent between the curve north of Ardan <br />and Eastwood from 40 mph to 30 mph. <br />The change on County Road J consisted of rezoning the segment <br />between T. H. 610 and I-35W from 40 mph to 45 mph. <br />The other segments along both roadways remain with the existing <br />speed zone. The attached map summarizes the changes. <br />U <br />
