MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FROM: CLERK -ADMINISTRATOR
^ATE: MARCH 28, 1989
SUBJECT: TEMPORARY RECEPTIONIST HELP
In discussing the issue of hanaling the receptionist
position, during the absence of a receptionist, with the
members of the office clerical staff it became quite clear
that the current members of our staff would not be able to
handle this additional load and perform their normal duties
in an efficient and timely manner. Therefore, 1 requested
that Administrative Secretary Severson contact some
tempu.aiy eu`:pioyma— agcncicc to determine the rngt of a
individual who could perform the majority of the
receptionist duties during the interim period. Dolphin
Temporary Services appears to have the best program
available to the City and would charge a rate of $7.99 to
$8.99 per hour dependent upon the skill level of the
individual provided. Carol Rasmussen was earning $9.56 per
hour, which included the base hourly wage and benefits, at
the time of her dismissal.
Staff would request authorization to fill the receptionist
is position with a temporary employee from Dolphin Temporary
Services at a rate not exceeding $8.99 per hour until a
full-time receptionist is hired by the City.
DFP/MJS
Donald F.
