MEMO TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL <br />FROM: MARY SAARION, DIRECTOR <br />PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY <br />DATE: JUNE 27, 1989 <br />SUBJEcf: OAKWOOD PARK IMPROVEMENTS <br />At the June 22, 1989 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, the preliminary sire <br />Plans were reviewed with residents that were present. These improvements were <br />requested by the residents at the March 23, 1989 Parks and Recreation Commission <br />meeting. The residents were in agreement with the plan. <br />The Parks and Recreation Commission made a motion, seconded it and passed it <br />unanimously to recom-nend to the City Council, the approval to perform the <br />improvements as listed below. Monies for this project would come from the Park <br />Improvement Fund. <br />IMPROVEMENTS APPROXIMATE COST <br />Site preparation <br />$ 8,000.00 <br />Play equipment <br />11,000.00 <br />Bleachers (1 set of 3 der) <br />850.00 <br />Backstop <br />2,000.00 <br />Two (2) players benches <br />500.00 <br />Ag-lime infield <br />2,000.00 <br />Sand volleyball court <br />1,500.00 <br />Path re -alignment <br />1,000.00 <br />Two (2) picnic tables <br />700.00 <br />One (1) picnic grill <br />180.00 <br />Four (4) horseshoe courts <br />500.00 <br />TOTAL ..................................... <br />$ 28,230.0C <br />RECOMMENDATION: To consider the approval for park improvements at <br />OakwoodPark including: <br />Site preparation (grading, fill, topsoil & seeding) <br />Play equipment <br />Bleachers, backstop and players benches <br />Ag-lime infield <br />Sand volleyball court <br />Picnic tables and grill <br />Horse.;hoe courts <br />Path re -alignment <br />at an approximate total cost of $28,500 to be funded from the Park Improvement <br />Fund. <br />
