TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCI
FROM: CLERK-ADMINISTRATO
DATE: JUNE 14, 1989
SUBJECT: MOUNDS VIEW BUSINESS PARK SOUTH
During the June 12th Public Hearing on the referenced
project, three main issues were raised by the residents
present. The Council directed staff to respond to these at
i
the June 19th Agenda Session. The sues and staff response
are as follows:
1. Woodale Drive, existing road and extension.
Residents questioned the Comprehensive Plan
designation as a collector street, the City's
designation as an MSA street and the use of the
street by trucks.
I have directed City Engineer Minetor to respond to
these concerns by separate memorandum, attached
hereto. Mr. Minetor prepared his report after
discussing the issues with City Planner Hren and
myself.
2. Criticism of Public [ic.aring Notice as not being
descriptive of the project.
® The past practice cf the City has been to send out
public hearing notices containing the following
information:
a. Date, time and location.
b. Name of the applicant and/or property owner,
iddress, if available,
and legal description of
the property.
c. A map showing the location of the property in
relation to the general area of the City in
which it is located.
d. A description of the purpose of the hearing,
i.e. what the applicant has applied for that
requires a public hearing.
e. Name and address and/or phone number of City
staff person to contact for further information.
The notice is mailed to all registered ownerss f
property within 350 feet of the prof
boundaries. If staff is aware of rental units, a
' notice is mailed to each unit addressed occupant. If
staff is aware that interest in the project exists
beyond the 350 foot limit, notice is mailed
