APPLICATION FOR PERMIT TO place fill material into a wetland adjacent to <br />Rice Creak Luring the construction of a road extension and a trail system. A <br />total of about 1.4 acres of wetland would be filled. <br />2. SPECIFIC INFOuNATION <br />APPLICANT'S ADDRESS: 2685 Long Lake Road. <br />Roseville, Minnesota 55113 L MAY 2 6 11 <br />PHONE YIMBER: (612) 636.5500 <br />AGENT: Mr. Ronald Peterson <br />Westwood Professional Services <br />7101 York Avenue <br />Edina, Minnesota 55435 <br />PHONE NUMBER: (612) 921-3303 <br />PROJECT LOCATION: S112 of Section 8, T30N, R23H, Ramsey County, Minnesota. <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: The project is being conducted jointly by the <br />Everest Group and the City of Mounds View, The developer is constructing an <br />office complex entirely on the upland area to the east of the wetland. As <br />part of this business park project the existing Woodale Drive would be <br />extended to complete a public street and improve local traffic. It is <br />estimated that about 0.1 acre of wetland would be filled by the roadway. <br />Other work in the wetland would involve tho excavation of it wildlife pond <br />and the construction of a pedestrian trail around the fringe of the wetland. <br />It is estimated that about 1.3 acres of wetland would be filled by the trail, <br />which would be covered with a pervious substance such as wood chips. This <br />trail segment would ultimately link up with the Ramsey County Regional Trail.. <br />The purpose of the 2 acre pond and the trail would be to increase the <br />wetland's interpretive value for the local community and for the school <br />located immediately to the vest. <br />QUANTITY, TYPE, AND AREA OF FILL: It is astinatad that about 2.000 cubic <br />yards of fill would be placed in the vetland for the road. Pond excavation <br />would involve removing about 11,700 cubic yards of material. This material <br />would be used for an island in the pond, for trail construction, and for <br />topsoil on the upland. The trail would require the placement of about 4,000 <br />eubir. yards of material in the wetland. All excavated material not used for <br />these 3 purposes would be placed in an upland area. <br />The trail would have a top width of about 10 feet and a bottom width of <br />about 22 feet. The sideslopes would be 3 to 1. Approximately 2,500 feet of <br />the trail would be in the wacland. <br />1 <br />
