St. in the block between
5520-5679. ?his block is imn r) of Carty Road I.
•Request placement at each end o k as well as two in the middle of
of the block since the block is so long.
Dear Council Members:
We make the above request due to the large nurrber of children under the age
of ten years old or our street. host of these children are ages four to eight,
learring to ride bicycles and erjovinA visiting their friends across the street.
You will rotice the heavv corcertratfon it the one half block closest. to County
Road I - sixteer children in the first ten houses! When a vehicle turns onto St -
Stephen St,. from Court, P.oad I, it ir:;t a,;y impossible to cross the street
quickly Enough with no advance warning. Ever after looking both ways to make
sure the street is clear, children have a difficult time crossing if a car
suddenly appears off of County Road I and accelerates.
After consultation with and recoamendation by Councilwoman Diane Wuc-i
(a resident of our street), I spoke to Police Chief Timothy Ramacher and have
his total support on the project.
Please consider our request. The attached chart Rives complete statistics
along with a key designating the specifics involved. EncJosed also is a
Petition containing signatures from 23 of the 24 houses on this block. (I was
unable to contact the 24th resident because it was difficult to find him home.
I have been informed by a neighbor that he is a policeman so I doubt that we
would find opposition from him.)
Thank you for your immediate attention. As spring fever hits, the sooner
the signs are installed, the better!!
Cordially,
Cheryl Barurboefher
5532 St. Stephens St.
Mounds View, MM 55112
785-2370
Encl:• Map with pertinent statistics of St. Stephens St.
(2) 0 Petition with signatures of residents of this specific block.
E
