RESOLUTION 1989-1 <br />CiTY Or" MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RA1,1SEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THAT <br />ED FOR THE <br />LOCATED NORTHEAST OF HEHIGHWAY 610 BE STUDYPOSTPONED SUNTIL FUNDINNG S <br />AVAILABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT AND UNTIL EXISTING PARKS ARE DEVELOPED <br />WHEREAS, all the intended land located northeast of Highway 610 has <br />not been acquired yet; and <br />WHEREAS, this land includes wetlands and future development is subject <br />to wetland ordinances and restrictions; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is anticipating a location on this site for some type <br />of water distribution entity such as a water tower; and <br />WHEREAS, there has been a precedent that studies and surveys be <br />funded from the General Fund; and <br />t WHEREAS, the City Council has requested that the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission prioritize future Park Improvement Fund expenditures. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission unanimously agrees that it is a responsible and frugal decision to <br />recommend that development of existing parks be accomplished before Park <br />Improvement monies are used for developing new park acquisitions; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />unaof Park <br />ment Funds should not be used to <br />ma study of future landusly agrees that euseeuntil monies are <br />funavailable for development of such <br />land; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that given the direction to prioritize park <br />improvements with the limited funds available, the Mounds View Parks and Recreation <br />Commission unanimously agrees that the $20,000 budgeted for a 199i expenditure for <br />a intid uc If the land located northeast of 610 and survey should be delayed <br />until money is available for park development; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />unanimously agrees that the limited monies available in the Park Improvement Fund <br />should be used for the full development of existing parks. <br />
