City water production, treatment, filtration, and <br />distribution are provided by equipment , <br />Chlorination and fluouridation provided for treatment, three filtration plants <br />are operated for removal of iron and manganese, <br />and 250,000 feet of water mains, valves, and 400 <br />hydrants are maintained for distribution. <br />d. fhe sanitary sewer collection system consists of <br />3 lift stations, 235,000 feet of sewer mains, and -. <br />90o manholes. <br />e. There are 40 miles of streets under the Cisign <br />jurisdiction. In addition, 1,352 traffic signs <br />are maintained by City forces. <br />f, Maintenance of 33 City vehicles and other City <br />equipment. <br />g. Parks maintenance coordination and direction. <br />h. Building inspection, fire inspection, housing <br />inspection, and plan review. <br />The current goals of the department call more <br />improving the delivery of services through <br />productive equipment, improved work scheduling, and <br />appropriate response to maintenance needs. <br />Specific objectives for 1989 and 1990 are as follows; <br />updating the existing capital improvement <br />programs in Streets, Water and Sewer to <br />rovide a coordinated 5 year Cap <br />ital <br />Improvements Program including long range <br />goals. <br />14 <br />
