AAA aNFOWATiON <br />METPOPOLITAN�O�I�iF,! � 5 tars Pork C:r-'r., 230 Fa:t Fifth Sinn. �, I�,�Q � �,611191-dif9 <br />August 15, 1989 <br />Tc: Local Goverment Key Contacts in Metropolitan Agency District B <br />The Metropolitan Council's Metropolitan Agencies Appointments Committee will <br />conduct a public meeting on Sept. 20 to hear statements from candidates and <br />on behalf of candidates for District B on the Metropolitan F.rks and Open Space <br />Commission. District B includes all of suburban Ramsey County, Washington <br />County north of P.wy. 36, and Lino Lakes and Centerville in Anoka County. The <br />vacancy occurred when Dick Wedell was appo!nted to the Regional Transit Board. <br />Citizens and local elected officials are invited to attend and speak on behalf <br />of any of the candidates. following the meeting, the committee will submit its <br />recommendation to the Council, which will appoint the commission member. In <br />making its recommendation, the committee will consider evidence of the <br />candidate's commitment to communicate regularly on issues before the Parks and <br />Open Space Commission with Council members, legislators and local elected <br />officials in the district. <br />The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the old White Bear <br />Lake City Ball at 4700 Miller Ave., White Bear Lake. <br />If you have questions about the appointments process or want to obtain <br />applications for the commission, please. call Sandi Lindstrom of the Council <br />staff at 291-6390.
