hTi:40 T0: NAyOR AND COUNCIL4DI,`1BERS <br />FROM: W' 'I SAARION, DIRECTOR <br />PARRS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY <br />1 <br />DATE: JUNE 14, 1988 <br />SUBJECT: SILVER VIEW PA.R.'C PATHWAY <br />The completion of Silver View Park pathway became an issue when staff received <br />telephone calls from residents who inquired why the wcod chip path did not <br />extend around the eacire pond. Staff brought this issue up to the Park, and <br />987. After se <br />Recreation this issue with hr sidengs onof lboth sides, itvwas'theedesire of the <br />discussing <br />Parss <br />k and Recreation Commission to extend the path completely around the pond. <br />Some residents living on land bordering park land continued to object to the <br />extension of the pathway. The issue was turned over to the City Council with <br />the recommendation from the Park and Recreation Commission that the pathway be <br />extended. <br />The City Council held several meetings with residents during the 1-1/2 year <br />timespan. A final plan explaining the pathway layout has been developed by <br />Engineer Dan Boxrud (see attached). It is staff's request that direction be <br />given from the Council to staff regarding the wood chip path at Silver View <br />Park. <br />The City staff has conferred and is is the opinion that work done on the <br />ed until fall of <br />his <br />pathway could <br />conchs andtthere is already would longli if st <br />stressed if <br />of summer maintenance projects to be completed. <br />City Council direction is requested. <br />'NS/SL <br />Attachment <br />yam.. <br />
