facilities, such as the trail system, neighborhood parks, and
ballfields, should be a higher priority. Still others tell us
that the City should proceed on both projects. How about you...
114. Should the City priority be the COM.4UNITY CENTER ........ 1
building of a community center, IMPROVE/EXPAND .......... 2
improvement and expansion of BOTH....................3
existing facilities, or should NONE (VOL)..............4
both be undertaken? DON'T KNOW/REFUSED ...... 5
The cost of expanding and improving the trail system, using the
Rice Lake trail as a hub, and constructing additional neighbor-
hood parks and ballfields would be approximately three million
dollars. In order to fund this construction, a bond referendum
would be necessary. The increase in property tares for and
average $90,000 home would be approximately $20.00 per year for
twenty years.
115. Would you favor or oppose this STRONGLY FAVOR .......... 1
bond referendum? (WAIT FOR S014EWHAT FAVOR .......... 2
RESPONSE) And do you feel SOMEWHAT OPPOSE ......... 3
strongly that way? STRONGLY OPPOSE ......... 4
DON'T KNOW/REFUSED ...... 5
To undertake the construction of new recreational facilities and
a community center would require a bond referendum of eleven
million dollar. The increase in property taxes for the average
$90,000 home in Maple Grove would be $73.00 per year for twenty
years. If both projects were combined in one package and offered
to the voters....
116. Would you favor or oppose this
STRONGLY
FAVOR .......... 1
bond referendum? (WAIT FOR
SOMEWHAT
FAVOR .......... 2
RESPONSE) And do you feel
SOMEWHAT
OPPOSE ......... 3
strongly that way?
STRONGLY
OPPOSE ......... 4
DON'T KNOW/REFUSED ...... 5
As you may know, the most of Maple Grove is contained within the
Osseo School District. The student population in the District
has been increasing during the past few years. There is a
possibility that the School District may ask voters to approve a
bond referendum in the near future. Residents might be asked to
fund the construction of additional elementary schools and a high
school during the coming years. if passed, these referenda would
increase property taxes within the Osseo School District.
117. Would the passage of any school
bond referendum make you more
likely or less likely to support
the community center referendum?
(WAIT FOR RESPONSE) And is that
much (more/less) likely or only
somewhat?
13
MUCH MORE LIKELY ........ 1
SOMEWHAT MORE LIKELY .... 2
NO DIFFERENCE (VOL.).... 3
SOMEWHAT LESS LIKELY .... 4
MUCH LESS LIKELY ........ 5
DON'T XNOW/REFUSED...... 6
