-Z�27N /D <br />MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: CLERK -ADMINISTRATOR DON PAULE <br />DATE: OCTOBER 18, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: MODIFIED CITY HALL OFFICE HOURS <br />Over the last several months on an extremely infrequent <br />basis the Department Head Team has been discussing the idea <br />of modifying the City Hall office hours for summer months to <br />be open earlier in the morning and/or later in the evening <br />to provide greater service to the residents of Mounds View <br />who currently find our office hours inconvenient as they <br />conflict with their working hours. In September, Ric <br />Minetor submitted a memo to me that was reviewed by the <br />Department Head Team, copy attached, discussing some options <br />that he and his staff had developed regarding the <br />possibility of alternative office hours. The Department <br />Head Team discussed this memo and felt that the issue is of <br />enough importance that we wished to refer it to the City <br />Council for further direction. <br />Essentially, it is the desire of the Management Team to <br />determine whether or not the City Council wishes to consider <br />alternative office hours. If so, the Management Team needs <br />authorization to discuss the matter with our individual <br />^ staffs as well as having a City Hall staff meeting to <br />determine whether or not City Fall staff are receptive to <br />our idea. <br />I would like to re-emphasize that the purpose for discussing <br />this issue on the part of the staff is to determine whether <br />or not it is feasible to extend our office hours in a manner <br />that would be more convenient that our current hours. We <br />are open to any ideas and options in this area and are <br />seeking Council direction at this time. <br />D: P/MJS <br />
