MEMORANDUM
Memo To :Mayor and City Council Members
From :Ric Minetor, Director of Public works/City Engineer
Date :November 2, 1989
Subject :M S A Computer Hardware and Software
I have received the price list and reimbursement allowances for
the City Engineer's computer network hardware and software. Pie
previously discussed the Staters offer to reimburse up to 60; of
the cost of a computer for MSA work. This will likely be a
requirement in the future for MSA project scheduling and cost
tracking. The hardware and software recommended totals $8,193;
with the State reimbursing 60% of this cost ($4,915.80). I would
recommend the printer upgrade to a HP Laserjet printer ($1,095)
and the dual asynchronous adapter upgrade ($159). The City's cost
would be $4,531. In addition to the cost of the computer hardware
and software, a desk and printer stand would be required. This
will cost approximately $1,000 additional.
The majority of this could be offset by the building permit
surcharge rebate we received from the State. This would cover
$4,052.15. The remaining $1,478.85 could be covered by additional
building permit receipts above that budgeted.
If the Council concurs with this purchase, the State needs a
Purchase Order prior to November 30, 1989 for this budget year or
Prior to February 15, 1989 for budget year 1990. I recommend
purchase in this budget year.
