Prepare, for annual publication, an article for the <br />City newsletter regarding the requirements of City <br />Code relating to filling and excavation and the need <br />for a permit. <br />B. Responsive <br />1. Direct staff to, <br />a. Send a letter to all five property owners <br />requesting that they cease any further filling -. <br />and grading. <br />b. Undertake a study of the issue, to be completed <br />by March 1, 1987, addressing the following areas, <br />- evaluate the impact filling has had on the <br />original purpose the retention pond was to <br />serve. <br />- evaluate the impact of the filling on the <br />Arden Drainage Basin storm sewer system. <br />- evaluate alternative solutions to the problem <br />including, <br />removal of fill and regrading to original <br />condition. <br />leave fill as is and provide a positive outlet <br />for the pond. <br />modify grading to provide retention ponds for <br />each individual home or group of homes. <br />leave as is. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff would recommend Council approval of the <br />direction outlined above and request authorization to proceed. <br />DFP/mjs <br />
