" MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN <br />THE, CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW AND FOR <br />OUTLINING THE DUTIES OF THE CITIES PART-TIME AQUAITC SUPERVISOR <br />The following memorandum of understanding is hereby'entered'into <br />between the City of Mounds View and to perform and <br />provide services of a part-time Aquatic Supervisor which will include <br />but not be limited to the following scope and peramatersc <br />THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF 1'IIE PART-TIME AQUATIC SUPERVISOR WILL BE <br />TO ORGANIZE, DIRECT, IMPLEMENT, AND COORDINATE THE CITYfS <br />AQUATICS PROGRAM AT BOTH TIIE EDGEWOOD POOL AND LAKESIDE PARK <br />BEACH WHILE COORDINATING AND INTERFACING WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />AND SURROUNDING MUNICIPALITIES. <br />The major areas of acccuntability for will be as followat <br />1. Respcnsible for the hiring, supervision and evaluation of all <br />beach and pool personnel including lifeguards, water safety <br />Instructors, applicable maintenance personnel and related <br />aquatics employees. <br />2. Responsible for scheduling the working hours, rotation and staff <br />needs of all aquatic personnel at both the pool and swimming <br />beach area. This includes assigning work duties to assure that <br />all related waterfront activities are addressed in an efficient <br />and effective manner to include lifeguarding, first aid, <br />maintenance and general pool cleanliness. <br />3. Responsible for preparation of all time sheets, Red Cross <br />certification cards and other written materials as requested by <br />the Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry. <br />A. Responsible for establishing and carrying out a quarterly in- <br />house training program for all aquatics personnel to include but <br />not be limited to rules, regulations, safety procedures, use of <br />safety equipment, general pool and beach techniques. <br />Responsible for coordinating with related agencies involved with <br />the Fdgewood Community Center pool program to include but not be <br />limited to municipal recreation departments, USSA swim club, <br />local community groups, civic organizations and local businesses. <br />6. Direct and coordinate the preparation of a year-round swimming <br />program which will be mailed to all school district residents <br />promoting swimming opportunities available throughout the city <br />and school district. <br />7. Oversee a variety of public relations activities designed to make <br />the most effective use of available promotional possibilities <br />through local media, flyers, school announcements, letter <br />coorespondence, etc. <br />8. Coordinate and control facility usage for the Edgewood Community <br />Center P001 to include private pool rentals and corporate fitness <br />rentals or promotions. <br />Initiate and control all supply equipment purchases to replenish <br />existing inventories and provide additional items necessary for <br />effective program implementation and maximum safety for all <br />swimming pool and beachfront patrons. <br />
