Item No. 613 <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Pete Szurek — Public Works Superintendent <br />Date: April 24', 2025 <br />RE: Public Works Staff Report <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br />(2 fulltime Park Workers, no Arborist and 0 seasonal workers) worked on the following items since <br />April 1st, 2025. <br />Parks Maintenance <br />• Public Works office: remodeling, painting, moving furniture, setting up furniture, cleaning, hole filling, <br />door painting ect. <br />• Spring trash and litter pickup, Mondays and Fridays and as time allows at all park locations <br />• Ballfield grooming and leveling <br />• Field marking for painting <br />• Installation of all nets <br />• All portable bathrooms have been delivered <br />• Fertilizing at most parks <br />Forestry <br />Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br />• Resident phone consults and site visits, many private resident diseased tree removals left from the <br />2024 marking) <br />• Contractor meets and calls <br />• Arborist interviews <br />Burning of brush pile at Silverview Park <br />• Tree sale- around 70 trees remain for purchase <br />• Taking several calls and emails on Silverview Pond Project <br />11Page <br />
