A <br />Needs Inventory/Effective Management Program at UMC. As you - <br />know, most folks in an academic setting are quite skeptical and <br />questioning of most activities. Their reaction to participation <br />in this program started in that vein and yet they soon realized <br />the importance of receiving feedback as a manager from their <br />supervisor, colleagues, and individuals they supervise. The 1 4 1 . <br />structured program clearly identified areas for each as to <br />improve upon as managers. We also held weekly discussions for <br />nearly half a year to better understand various management "fir <br />techniques. Everyone is much more goal oriented, as well as <br />sensitive to procedures to follow in terms of implementing their <br />administrative responsibilities as a result of the programs. s <br />I would add that the UMC staff had completed the DISC inventory <br />personality profile a few years ago. The two programs complement <br />one another. One identifies your leadership style and the other <br />WWI <br />provides insight as to perceptions of your performance as e <br />manager.
