POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY WRITE-UP (Mounds View) <br />Position Title: Community Service Officer Date: October, 1987 <br />Department: Police <br />Accountable To: Police Chief <br />Primary Obiective of Position <br />To enforce assigned ordinances throughout the community in a <br />diplomatic and businesslike manner and continually educate the <br />community to the ne 4 and justification for such regulations <br />Maior Areas of Accountability <br />Performs daily patrol duties to uncover ordinance violations 1 <br />and initiates action consistent with good judgment <br />Contacts directly individuals responsible for violations and 2 <br />solicits their cooperation toward compliance in a diplomatic <br />and buisnesslike manner <br />---Provides copies of established ordinances to citizens with <br />the goal of resolving the case in point without a formal <br />citation <br />Completes required documentation on all ordinance violations 3 <br />as well as providing a careful report of all patrol activities <br />during each shift <br />Performs house -watch duties to help ensure the safety and 4 <br />security of property belonging to residents out of the city <br />for a period of time <br />Submits a log sheet daily (summary) report on all activities 5 <br />Investigates violations reported by citizens and/or Police 6 <br />Officers, and follows through to initiate appropriate action, <br />depending on the circumstances involved <br />Maintains good working relationships with local veterinarians 7 <br />to ensure their cooperation in housing animals impounded as a <br />result of violations <br />Keeps supervisor informed of all important metters which 8 <br />require immediate action or attention <br />Performs other responsibilities as delegated 9 <br />Other Performance Measurements <br />--- Position accountabilities are completed in a manner which <br />ensures ordinance compliance and as much cooperation from <br />citizens as possible <br />
