MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COU IL
® FROM: CLERK -ADMINISTRATOR
DATE: FEBRUARY 4, 1987
SUBJECT: 1987 CLEAN UP DAY
Mary Saarion requested that I prepare a notice for the City
Newsletter currently being prepared for printing that would
indicate when the 1987 Clean Up Day would be held. After
reviewing the 1987 calendar, which leaves little room
available in the beginning of May, the traditional time for
clean up day, due to Mother's Day and the fishing opener it
would be my recommendation that either the 25th of April or
the 2nd of May, both Saturdays, be selected as the date for
the 1987 Clean Up Day. Upon determination of the final date
for that activity Staff will be making arrangements similar
to those of the 1906 Clean Up Day in order to afford the
broadest level of services to our residents for that day.
staff will be discussing with the Council at a future date
issues regarding fees and contracting for recycling
services. Our only intent at this time is to schedule a
date that may be advertised in the Newsletter with a notice
that additional information will be provided through the New
Brighton Bulletin when final arrangements are made.
DFP/mjs
I
