MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: CLERK-ADMINISTRATO <br />DATE: MAY 13, 1987 M? <br />SUBJECT: AMOCO OIL COMPANY CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />2800 Trunk Highway 10 <br />Amoco Oil Company has requested a Conditonal Use Permit to <br />construct a self-service gas station/convenience store and <br />attached car wash on the southwest corner of Trunk Highway <br />10 and Silver Lake Road where Northeast Marine is <br />currently located. Attached with this memorandum are copies of <br />the initial Staff Report dated February 18, 1987, a Supple- <br />mentary Staff Report dated February 27, 1987, the Traffic and Air <br />Quality Study Reports dated March 27, 1987 and the resolution <br />ultimately adopted by the Mounds View Planning Commission. It <br />should be pointed out that the applicant has met all of the <br />requirements placed on this project by the Planning Commission. <br />At the May 6th Planning Commission Meeting the Chairperson voted <br />for the project although voicing concern regarding this type of <br />use at that .location adn Planning Commisson Member 2olner voted <br />against the project on the basis that she felt the use was <br />inappropriate at that site. Attached is a copy of minutes from <br />the May 6th Planning Commission Meeting relating to this issue. <br />Staff would be happy to respond to any questions the Council <br />might have regarding this project in preparation for the Public <br />Hearing at 7:05 p.m. on May 26th.
