TO: Mayor, City Council and Clerk -Administrator <br />FROM: •Mounds View Police Civil Service Commission <br />DATE: May 21, 1987 <br />RE: INVESTIGATOR PROMOTION <br />As a result of Tim Smith's retirement, a vacancy was <br />created in the Police Department. A police officer was <br />hired in May to fill that vacancy. The Civil Service <br />began the selection process in early May for the purpose <br />of promoting an investigator. The selection process included <br />a written examination and interviews. Three officers applied <br />for the position of investigator. Larry Siluk a 12 year <br />veteran, was selected for the position. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The City Council authorize the Police <br />Department to promote Larry Siluk to the <br />the position of Police Investigator <br />effective June 1, 1987. Salary will be <br />determine by the local union contract. <br />Probationary period will be one year. <br />
