AGREEMENT FOR INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE <br />OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS <br />AGREEMENT NO. 87011 <br />THIS AGREEMENT, by and between the City of Mounds View, Minnesota, a <br />municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as the "City," and Ramsey County, a <br />political subdivision of the State of Minnesota, hereinafter referred to as the "County"; <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, it is considered mutually desirable to remove the existing and install <br />temporary traffic control signals with street lights on County Road i (County State <br />Aid highway No. 3) at Quincy Street (Municipal State Aid Street No. 229); and <br />WHEREAS, the County and City will participate in the cost, maintenance and <br />operation of said traffic control signal with street lights as hereinafter set forth; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Tfie County shall prepare the necessary plans, specifications and proposals <br />and shall perform the engineering and Inspection required to complete the items of <br />work hereinafter set forth. Such work as described immediately above shall constitute <br />"Engineering and Inspection" and shall be so referred to hereinafter.' <br />2. The contract cost of the work or, if the work is not contracted, the cost <br />of all labor, materials and equipment rental required to complete the work, except the <br />cost of providing the power supply to the service pole or pad shall constitute the actual <br />"Construction Cost" and shall be so referred to hereinafter. <br />3. The County shall install or cause the installation of new temporary traffic <br />control signal with street lights in accordance with County Project No. TRF 517 at <br />the intersection of County Road I and Quincy Street. Estimated construction cost Is <br />$32,000.00 which includes $10,800.00 of County -furnished materials. City's share - fifty <br />percent (50%). County's share - fifty percent (50%). <br />4. The City shall install or cause the installation of an adequate electrical <br />power supply to the service pole including any necessary extensions of power lines. <br />Upon completion of the temporary traffic control signal system installation, necessary <br />electrical power for their operation shall be at the sole expense of the City. In <br />accordance with the Policy for Lighting County Roadways, County Board Resolution <br />67-1394, the City shall maintain and pay energy costs of the integral street lighting. <br />5. Upon completion of the project, the County shall maintain and keep in <br />repair the temporary traffic control signal, including relamping, cleaning and painting <br />at its expense. <br />6. Upon execution of this agreement and a request in writing by the County, <br />the City shall advance to the County an amount equal to 10% of its share of the actual <br />bid price and County -furnished materials plus 6% of the City's share of the total project <br />cost for engineering and inspection. The remaining portion of the City share will be <br />invoiced to the City based on periodic payments to the contractor. The City shall <br />reimburse the County for all invoiced items within 30 days of the date of Invoice. <br />Interest at the rate of 8% per annum shall be charged on all amounts not paid within <br />thirty days from the date of invoice. <br />87011 <br />1 of 2 <br />
