RESOLUTION NO. 2217 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br />RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION AND APPRECIATION TO <br />BRIAN STRAUSS <br />WHERE..', on the morning of July 8, 1986 the City of <br />Mounds View experienced a catastrophe caused by the rupture <br />of an 8 inch hazardous liquid pipeline running through the <br />City and subsequent explosion and fires resulting in the <br />deaths of two Mounds View residents and severe injuries to a <br />third; and <br />WHEREAS, in response to this incident various <br />individuals, organizations, and communities have come to the <br />support and encouragement of the City of Mounds View and the <br />Spano and Balk families; and <br />WHEREAS, Brian Strauss offered his time to <br />expeditiously and efficiently deliver to the homes in the <br />affected area the City's Neighborhood Update; and <br />WHEREAS, such a generous gesture deserves public <br />recognition and acknowledgement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council <br />of the City of Mounds View on behalf of the residents of the <br />City commends Brian Strauss for his outstanding community <br />service and offers our heartfelt appreciation for his <br />unselfish generosity. <br />Adopted this 27th day of July, 1987. <br />ATTEST: <br />Mayor Linke <br />Councilmember Blanchard Councilmember Haake <br />Councilmember Hankner Councilmember Qu— ick <br />Clerk -Administrator Pauley <br />
