Police Chief Hamacher presented the crime statistics for the first half of 1987 versus the same period in 1986, and noted they were down overall. Chief Ramacher reported Super America had donated $250 toward the purchase of a bullet proof vest for the Police Department. He explained all officers now have'one and are required to wear it while on duty. He also reported the new, unmarked car is working out well. Park Director Saarion presented the Council with the second quarter department report for the Parks, Recreation and Forestry department and reviewed the activities they had undertaken. Attorney Meyers had no report. 16. Report of Attorney Councilmember Hankner stated she was concerned with 17.
