NEWSLETTER <br />December 14, 1987 City of Mounds View Volume VII Number.18 <br />MOUNDS VIEW BUSINESS PARK PROPERTY CONDEMNATION <br />As a result of the unwillingness to Meets. Wasta and <br />Underdahl to accept the City's offering price for purchase <br />of their lands needed to complete the Mounds View Business <br />Park, City Attorney Richard Meyers has commenced condemna- <br />tion proceedings against Mr. Waste and Associate City <br />Attorney Karney on Mr. Underdahl's property. It is our hope <br />that the City will able to accomplish acquisition of <br />these properties through a quick take process that will <br />allow our acquisition to the title of this property at the <br />earliest possible date. <br />COUNTY ROAD I RECONSTRUCTION <br />As you know, the basic work for the reconstruction of County <br />Road I has been completed for this construction season. The <br />traffic signal at Quincy and I will be operational in the <br />very near future and the storm water pond and control <br />structures are being completed at this time. <br />Cl Installation of signage including stop signs, speed limit <br />signs, and traffic control signs are being installed at this <br />time by the County. It is our hope that the temporary <br />asphalt surface will withstand the winter weather wear and <br />we will not. experience any significant traffic problems <br />along this section of road during the winter of 1988. <br />Work is scheduled to recommence at the earliest �ossible <br />date in the spring of 1988 beginning with the finishing of <br />paying. <br />POL_TCE CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS <br />Negotiations have commenced with T9amsters Local No. 320 <br />representing the Mounds View Police Department patrol <br />officers pursuant to direction approved by the City Council <br />at a recent Executive Session. ThE first negotiations were <br />construction in nature and it is the hope of Police Chief <br />Ramacher and myself that these negotiations will quickly <br />progress to a settlement. ' <br />CIVIL DEFENSE SIRENS <br />The radio activation equipment installed on the Mounds View <br />Civil Defense Sirens has been tested on a daily basis for <br />the last thirty days and been determined to be fully <br />operational and satisfactory pursuant to the performance <br />standards outlined in the specifications for the equipment. <br />Approval of final payment for th, =quipment will be <br />requested of the City Cou..cil at cembec 28th meeting. <br />
